DIY: Make It Your Own

We have a new DIY for you guys that’s all about taking one standard piece and making it your own. I got together with a few of the girls here at the office and we each applied some our favorite techniques to the same piece to get our own look. We started with the Vans Top Rank and used bleach, dye, studs, lace, glue, scissors, and paint to customize. Watch the video below to learn how to make your own.

Vans Girls DIY: Denim Studded Vest

As promised, our new DIY with Vans Girls series is here. We’ll be bringing you a new project every other week. If you have a project request or suggestion, e-mail us at vansgirls66[at]gmail.com. Up first, how to make a rock influenced denim vest out of an old jean jacket.

Always Up For a DIY

Here is a video of a crafty girl who turns scarves and such into oversized vest type dealies. That’s all very specific I know.. but just watch the video it’s pretty self explanatory once you see her do it, you’ll need a slight knowledge of sewing but it can all be learned by watching. You could also use long fabric pieces or old oversized t-shirts to get slightly different results. Let us know if you try it out.
