In Uniondale, NY, yesterday, the Vans Girls Tent had a wonderful special guest of We Are The In Crowd. The band did an acoustic set and a signing for about 300 kids! We didn’t use microphones, but everyone was singing and clapping along keeping the songs going. Everyone was in great spirits and were excited because the band debuted their first single from their first full length album that they just finished. Wandering around Warped Tour yesterday, I ran into Elise with her destroyed Vans. I asked her what happened to them. She told me about how she’s had them for 2 years, but likes to explore in them. Talking to her, I couldn’t believe she was only 17. Elise, next time lets go exploring together. xoxo allie

3 weeks into the Vans Warped Tour and its been an amazing time! I’ve met so many wonderful people, I’m so thankful to be able to do this. In Mansfield, MA, I met up with Samii Ryan, who has her own line, By Samii Ryan, and was a past Vans Girls Spotlight girl. She told me about the exciting things happening for By Samii Ryan and how she has created her own mark. Speaking of spotlight girls, I also had the pleasure of seeing CharlaVail in Scranton, PA yesterday. Keep an eye on what these creative girls are doing, you’re not gonna want to miss out! xoxo allie

Amanda and Kasey hitched the Vans Girls tent for the first time on Thursday in Noblesville, IN on the 2011 Vans Warped Tour and it was awesome! We held a splendid signing with New Years Day and we’ll be doing other signings here and there, so be sure to follow us on twitter to be up to date on all we’ve got going on.  If we’re coming through your city, check in with us in the morning and find out when the DIY times for the day are. We kicked off the Vans Girls tent in Noblesville, IN with a full day and tons of you ladies came by to hang out with us, take photos in our booth, make DIY shirts, and win some prizes! We made it through week 1 of the Vans Warped Tour, just in time for an off day for the 4^th of July! Completed the first round through California and it was so great to be in one of my home states and to see a ton of friends. I didn’t get any In-N-Out, which I’m pretty bummed about, but we’ll be back in a few weeks. In the past week I’ve gotten 3 new pairs of shoes, including Hello Kitty Vans and black on black sneaks with Andrew WK “Party Hard” laces. I’ve seen a lot of awesome DIY outfits, and even a few shirts inspired by my video! Make sure to check out the dates that the Vans Girls tent will be on the tour, and then we can DIY free tees together. On the day that you are coming to the tour, tweet me @alliemadigan and we’ll set up a place and time to meet so I can give you some awesome stickers! I’m gonna go sit by the pool and try to even out my horrible tank top and shorts tan lines while reading magazines on how to manage your summer hair. We finished our first weekend of the Vans Warped Tour and are now relaxing for two days off in Las Cruces, NM. Holy moly, I’m having such a great time so far! I’ve met so many incredible people and seen so many awesome bands play. I’ve seen a ton of sassy Vans girls walking around and me being the creeping photoblogger that I am, I always take their picture. We recently met up with the band Mr. Downstairs in Los Angeles, CA and they played us some brand new songs and told us a little bit about how the band came to be and what they are looking forward to about playing together. Watch the video above for an exclusive acoustic performance and to learn a little more about Mr. Downstairs. And, since I am sitting in the airport right now waiting to board a flight to Warped Tour, I think it’s an appropriate time to tell you guys some more exciting news about the band. You can catch Mr. Downstairs at the Vans Girls tent at the Carson, CA date of this summer’s Vans Warped Tour. They will be doing a signing and acoustic set, so make sure to come hang out with us if that’s your stop! If it’s not, don’t worry we’ll post some photos and videos then too. Also, make sure to check back later this week for more behind the scenes from this shoot and maybe even a big fat bonus [hint hint!]
