Follow My Vans Episode 4 is here from my time in Hawaii with Leila Hurst at the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. In this episode Leila and I are still in Kauai because of lay days for the contest. A lay day basically means that there aren’t good enough conditions to run, so they will wait until there are. In this case we had a few days off so we hopped a flight to her home island of Kauai from where we were staying on Oahu and did lots of fun stuff with her family. Her dad gave us a shooting lesson, we made some flower leis, and had some impromptu ukulele lessons. The final episode is coming this weekend, thanks for watching! -amanda

It’s starting to get all rainy and seasonal up in the Bean Town. Let’s just say I’m not too into it. The weather has been anything but fabulous to my standards, I guess we can’t all have California skies. So I decided to look at the goodness in this situation, and pull out all my favorite rainy day gear. The Franny shawl sweater has got to be my most prized possession this very moment, along with my purple Bennies Beanie, my Skinny Denim, and cozy Houston shoes. As the days begin to get shorter, and the weather a whole lot cooler, we’ve got some major transitioning to do with our wardrobe! While wearing cut off shorts and t-shirts sounds absolutely perfect for a California Fall, truth be told that sooner than later we’ll have to ACTUALLY wear something that covers up a little more. Channel your inner cowboy with a head-to-ankle (unless you’ve got some Denim slip on Lo-Pros) denim ensemble that not only has the casual factor of your summer wardrobe, but still gives you an extreme amount of style points. Denim on denim COULD be considered a little over-board…but that just makes the look THAT much more delightful! I’m all about the ‘over-board’.
