I’ve only been three weeks into school, and I already needed a break from the madness.  I took a long weekend off and flew back out to Chicago.  I’m proud to say that my Authentics have reached new heights:  I went up 103 stories to the top of Willis Tower for some pretty sights.  They have a glass box off the edge of the building to step in and, with terror, stare straight down with nothing below your feet.  Talk about nerve-racking.-alyson

Last Thursday in the windy city, I grabbed my Deserted Snake Backpack and went to the Art Institute of Chicago, which was having a special exhibition on pop artist Roy Lichtenstein.  A Retrospective had over 170 of Lichtenstein’s pieces, ranging from his signature style to never-before-seen works.  My favorites included his paintings that resemble women in romance comic strips.  His bright colors totally reminded me of the Vans Pop Authentics (which are equal parts awesome and colorful). -alyson

Greetings from Chicago! Last Sunday, I flew into O’Hare airport to have two weeks of vacation.  I roamed the city in one of my favorite Vans Girls graphic tees and matched it with a flowy High-Low skirt, a perfect summer piece.  I also wore my super light and comfy Leather Sk8-Hi D-Los, which are my new addiction. Chinatown and the downtown Loop area were some of the places I visited and, admittedly, I got too touristy for my own good. The weather is awesome in the Midwest and this place is a total blast. -alyson

The Postcard Diaries

As I’ve mentioned (about a billion times!), I’m heading out on tour for the next few months. If you’re coming to a show, and want to be a dear, bring me a postcard from your city! I want to get at least one from every city on the tour so come and represent your hometown! Don’t forget to write a little note on the back for us! When I get home I’ll make something cool with them and post it on the site for everyone to see! The cheesier the postcard, the better! -Allie
