I thought I would put together a few of my all time favorite movies and some fashion inspiration for those of you who are still in need of a great Halloween costume. Plus, if you haven’t made plans for the day yet I’d highly suggest a movie marathon of these flicks with your best friends… and maybe these treats.

Beetlejuice:
You could go a ton of ways with my favorite character, Lydia Deetz. There is obviously the school outfit, the red lace wedding gown, and even the animated version in a red cape. However I would go with classic Lydia in all black and add our Beat Brim Hat to complete the look.

Practical Magic:
You and your best friend could definitely go for a Sally & Gillian witchy sisters vibe, but you could also take your inspiration from the end of the movie while the whole family takes a slow dive off the roof in traditional witch garb. Our black Glitter Slip-On Lo Pro shoes would be great for this one, and don’t forget your umbrella!

The Craft:
If you haven’t seen this movie, drop everything you are doing and watch it now. This costume idea would work best with your closest friends and a heap of attitude. With the goth trends of the last year I’d bet most of you could pull this look together out of your closets already. Need last minute pieces? Our Forward Thinker Dress and the Shoe Fly Tee will definitely fit the bill.

Addams Family:
Okay so this photo is actually from Addams Family Values, the sequel, but one of my all time favorite 90’s movie scenes is when Wednesday goes all off script & sets fire to the camp play. I’d go with our super comfy Mohikan Shoes to top off this look. PS. you can watch that scene on youtube

Can’t wait to see all of your own costume creations! Hope everyone has an awesome holiday and be sure to send us your photos on twitter @vansgirls if you wear Vans with your costume. -amanda

Best Album of 2012: The Only Place
If you’re following Vans Girls on Twitter (which if you aren’t, shame on you!), then you must have read Amanda’s tweet asking what you felt the best album of 2012 was. Without hesitation upon reading it, I automatically knew which album I would deem worthy of the title, “The best of 2012”. I don’t know what it is, but I’ve found myself listening to Best Coast’s new album, The Only Place, over and over again. It’s like a warm cozy bear hug, that never lets go. We’ve all heard of the term, “teenage angst”, well this album has some major “23 year old female angst”. It’s like singer, Bethany, tapped into my life, and decided to write an entire album inspired by it. What about you? What do you think should be deemed the best album of 2012? -brittany
